Volunteer for a Chamber Event
Chamber Board members, members and friends had a great time at Golden Gate Fields on Sunday, January 17. We sold hot dogs, beer and sodas at Dollar Day, and made $1,000 for the Chamber. We had so much fun we're going to do it again.

Women business owners from each city in Alameda County will be honored at a dinner at the Claremont Hotel on Monday, November 9 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.. Golden Gate Fields Honored for Green Efforts
Golden Gate Fields received a StopWaste Partnership Business Efficiency Award for its environmental performance at a breakfast October 16 hosted by the East Bay Economic Development Alliance and StopWaste.org. It was one of 12 businesses honored, 8 in the Business Efficiency Category. The award was presented by Joanne Wile, Alameda City Councilmember and 2nd Vice President of the Alameda County Waste Management Authority.

Collection for Tsunami Survivors
Solano Kids owner Alaina Palega’s family is in American Samoa. Many Samoans have been killed or lost their homes and livelihoods in the deadly tsunami caused by the Indonesian earthquake. Alaina and her staff have set up Solano Kids as a donation drop-off point to help survivors. She has arranged to have all donations shipped every Friday at very low cost directly to American Samoa.
